Hawks Makeover Continues…
Add Andrew Ladd and Adam Burish to the list of former Chicago Blackhawks, as they both departed the Windy City on Thursday, with Ladd leaving via trade and Burish going via free agency. Are the Hawks done with their offseason wheelings and dealings?
Stan Bowman's busy offseason continued Thursday, as the Blackhawks General Manager traded restricted free agent Andrew Ladd to the Atlanta Thrashers for defenseman Ivan Vishnevskiy and a 2011 second round pick. Unrestricted free agent Adam Burish left the Stanley Cup Champions to sign with the Dallas Stars.
These transactions come on the heels of Kris Versteeg's trade to Toronto on Wednesday, and the trade of Dustin Byfuglien, Brent Sopel and Ben Eager to the Thrashers. Colin Fraser was also traded to the Edmonton Oilers last week.
The changes to the Hawks team are expected to end here, with the re-signing of goalie Antti Niemi and defenseman Nikolas Hjarlmarsson considered to be Bowman's next moves.
Lots of new faces will be donning red sweaters in 2010-11, as the Hawks look to repeat as Stanley Cup Champions.
