Harry Potter Books Nearly All Checked Out At St. Charles Library
ST. CHARLES, Ill. (CBS) -- The youth section of the St. Charles Library has been cleaned out of Harry Potter books, at least temporarily.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's John Cody reports, fans are making sure they have the story down before they see the movie that ends the series – "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2."
Youth librarian Donna Dettman says she has six complete Harry Potter sets – all seven books in each set, plus three extras – 45 books total.

All but three of the 45 books have been checked out.
Dettman says some readers are brushing up on the whole series so they'll be ready for the last movie, while others just re-read the whole series as a regular routine.
"It's like the characters in those books are their families," Dettman said. "It's like going to visit relatives you only see once a year. You open up that book and, 'Oh! What are they doing now?'"
Dettman said young readers were interested in the C.S. Lewis' "Chronicles of Narnia" and J.R.R. Tolkein's "Lord of the Rings" series, but says in 30 years she's never seen anytnig like the devotion to J.K. Rowling's story of Harry Potter.
