Harry Caray's Opening New Restaurant, Sports Museum At Water Tower Place
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Just in time for the start of baseball season, Harry Caray's Restaurant Group is opening a new restaurant at Water Tower Place, along with the new Chicago Sports Museum.
WBBM Newsradio's Mike Krauser reports, as you walk down the hall between the museum and the new "Harry Caray's 7th Inning Stretch," you'll see CEO Grant DePorter's personal collection of Chicago newspapers, the world's largest, dating to the 1800s.
The museum features exhibits you would expect – like jerseys, balls, bats, and skates – and interactive exhibits that let you "play with the legends" of Chicago sports – for example, by taking part in a home run contest as Hall of Famer Frank Thomas, or try to avoid getting sacked by Super Bowl XX MVP Richard Dent.
"You can jump as high as, say, Michael Jordan; or test your wingspan like Scottie Pippen," DePorter said.

The museum also has a "Forensic Sports" area that uses CSI-type techniques to examine various sports mysteries.
"You can go do a CAT scan and climb inside Sammy Sosa's corked bat," DePorter said.
There's also a Curses & Superstitions room, where the infamous Steve Bartman ball – or what's left of it – is on display. You can blow up your own ball using special effects.
"Kids love it," DePorter said.
The restaurant features food DePorter described as reimagined American favorites – including burgers, salads, pizza, and hand-dipped milkshakes.
