Harbaugh To Coach 49ers
Jim Harbaugh will leave Stanford to become the new coach of the San Fransisco 49ers.
The contract is reportedly for five-years and $25 million.
Harbaugh played quarterback at the University of Michigan before his 15-year NFL career, which included playing for the Chicago Bears from 1987–1993.
Harbaugh took over at Stanford in December of 2006, and over the course of his fours years at head coach was a combined 29–21.
The team has scheduled an afternoon news conference in San Francisco.
Harbaugh, who will replace fired coach Mike Singletary, also had been considering an offer from Stanford to stay put.
