Hampton: Bears' Week 5 Loss A Turning Point
(WSCR) The last time the Bears played the Lions, the following day was met with anger, confusion and a sense of frustration.
The Bears were licking their wounds after a 13-24 loss and questions surrounded every aspects of the team from offense, to defense to special teams.
Since that Week 5 loss, however, the Bears have rattled off four straight wins and put themselves in a prime spot to make a playoff run.
"Since they had that debacle over in Detroit when the Lions were 5-0 and the Bears were 2-3, what has happened since? The Lions are 1-3 and stumble-bumming around," Hall of Famer Dan Hampton told The Mully and Hanley Show. "Whereas the Bears beat Minnesota, then beat Josh Freeman, a good player, then we know about Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles and the No. 1 offense, and now Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson. I think more importantly, there's been a shift. I don't know where it's coming from, but they have been so much better at what they're trying to do."
