Hampton: Bears Finding Components Of Really Good Team

The Bears, since the bye week, are a completely different team from the one that was taking the field in the beginning of the season. And according to former Bear Dan Hampton, they're starting to find the components of a really good team.

While Sunday might not have been their best looking win of the season, they still did some things that will cause problems for the Patriots' defense.

"Bill Belichick has [Sunday's] film," Hampton said on the Mully and Hanley Show. "And I'm telling you, what they were doing on first down with Earl Bennett is devastating to defenses. [When Jay Cutler] hit the third step and got the ball out, those are the types of plays that take you from being just a muddling offense to an offense that is not only effective, but they're doing what you don't want them to do. They're taking advantage of your weaknesses."

Over the last few games we've been seeing the quick pass become a bigger and bigger part of the Bears' offense. They're adapting to the talent they have on the roster and starting to find the components that Hampton says are indicative of a good team.

"There are things about this year, the way it's coming together." Hampton said. "[For example, We're seeing] glimpses of some pass rushes when we need it. The components that make up really good teams, we didn't have them five, six or eight weeks ago. We're starting to look like we can get them when we need them."
