Hammond Man Struck, Killed By Vehicle While Walking On Highway Ramp
HAMMOND, Ind. (STMW) -- A 23-year-old Hammond man was killed early Saturday morning after he was struck by a vehicle while walking on the southbound ramp from Interstate 80 to Cline Avenue.
The man, Thomas House, 23, of 3254 163rd St., in Hammond, was struck by two different vehicles, according to Patti Van Til, Lake County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman.
Both vehicles were on the scene when police arrived.
House was transported from the scene to Community Hospital in Munster, where he was pronounced dead by the Lake County Coroner's Office at 5:08 a.m. Saturday from blunt force trauma injuries. The family has been notified.
No further information was available.
