Missing Gurnee Woman Found In Chicago
GURNEE, Ill. (STMW) - A woman who was reported missing from Gurnee woman and who suffers from Alzheimer's disease was found safe in Chicago by a Good Samaritan, police said.
A Good Samaritan found Margaret Stanczak in Chicago and brought her to the police station, according to an e-mail from Gurnee Police Cmdr. Jay Patrick. She is safe and unharmed, according to Patrick.
It was not known immediately where in the city she was found.
Stanczak, 74, was reported missing Saturday at 5:30 p.m. after was last seen leaving her residence about 12:30 p.m. driving a tan and cream-colored 2001 Toyota Camry, according to a release from Gurnee Police.
The car has slight front end damage and one headlight out. The license plate is ATN235.
Stanczak did not take her purse or any identification with her, and she suffers from an anxiety disorder and from Alzheimer's, the release said.
She was reported missing by her 39-year-old son who lives in Evanston. She frequents St. Patrick's church in Wadsworth.
Stanczak is described as white, 5-foot-6 and 114 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair.
