Gurnee Student's Wheelchair Stolen
GURNEE, Ill. (CBS) -- A family in north suburban Gurnee needs help.
Their 16-year-old son has cerebral palsy. Last week, his wheelchair was stolen.
Marlon Tapang now struggles to use a walker.
Friday morning, his dad put out Marlon's specially designed wheelchair on the driveway of the family home, before the school bus arrived.
But after Mr. Tapang went back inside to get Marlon, the wheelchair was gone.
"I can't get around outside anymore because I don't have the chair," Marlon told CBS 2's Jim Williams.
Marlon is an honor student and plans to attend the University of Illinois in Champaign.
The wheelchair is valued at $4,000. Anyone who knows the chair's location is urged to call Gurnee police.
