Gurnee Pair Tried To Lure 13-Year-Old Girl For Sex: Police
WAUKEGAN, Ill. (STMW) -- A man and woman from Gurnee were ordered held on $50,000 bond Thursday for allegedly trying to solicit a 13-year-old girl for sexual acts.
Gina M. Cusimano, 25, and Kevin C. Pettitt, 20, both of the 5100 block of Pembrook Court in Gurnee, were arrested about 9:30 p.m. Thursday and charged with indecent solicitation of a child and ordered held on $50,000 bond, according to a release from the Lake County Sheriff's office.
The mother of a 13-year-old girl told police on July 30 that her daughter had been receiving inappropriate text messages from Cusimano and Pettitt, the release said.
A detective pretended to be the teenage girl and agreed to have Cusimano and Pettitt pick them up and go to their home for sexual acts, the release said. Cusimano was arrested when she showed up to pick up the teen, and Pettitt was arrested at their home.
Lake County Sheriff's police do not believe there are any other victims, but the investigation continues.
Cusimano and Pettitt are scheduled to appear in court at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 28 in Waukegan.
