Gunman Turned Away From Party Opens Fire, 3 Women Hurt
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Three women were wounded in a shooting Saturday night when a man turned away from a Far South Side party came back with a gun and opened fire.
They were standing outside with a group of people at the party in the 13200 block of South Vernon Avenue when about 10:25 p.m. when the shooting happened, police said.
An unknown male suspect walked up and opened fire at the group, police said. He had previously been denied entry to the party.
A 19-year-old woman was shot in the ankle and taken in good condition to Roseland Community Hospital, police said. Another woman, 21, was shot in the leg and taken in "stable" condition to Advocate Christ Medical in Oak Lawn.
The third woman, 36, was shot in the buttock and taken to MetroSouth Hospital in Blue Island, also in "stable" condition, police said.
No one is in custody early Sunday.
Area South detectives are investigating.
