Gunman Opens Fire On Officers On West Side
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A gunman opened fire at Chicago Police officers overnight on the city's West Side.
The incident happened just before 2 a.m. Thursday in the 100 block of busy South Cicero Avenue – on the cusp of the West Garfield Park and South Austin neighborhoods.
A man of an unknown age shot at officers, police said. It was not clear how the confrontation began.
No one was struck, and officers did not return fire, police said.
The alleged gunman was arrested following the incident. Charges were pending Thursday morning.
