Gunman Arrested After Police-Involved Shooting In Englewood
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was arrested Tuesday evening, after pointing a gun at police officers in Englewood, prompting police to shoot the man.
At about 5:30 p.m., Englewood District tactical officers tried to conduct a field interview with a man on the 7300 block of South Morgan Street, police said.
The man refused to stop, pulled out a gun from his waistband and pointed the weapon at police as he tried to flee east on 73rd Street. One of the officers fired shots, striking the offender, police said.
The gunman was arrested and taken to a local hospital for treatment. A gun was recovered from the scene.
The Independent Police Review Authority, which investigates all police-involved shootings in Chicago, was reviewing the incident.
