Guillen: White Sox Are Going In 'Wrong Direction'
CHICAGO (WSCR) -- After the White Sox suffered their seventh straight loss Sunday, manager Ozzie Guillen conceded that the team is "in the wrong direction," but he is optimistic for the rest of the season.
"I don't want to say we're going in the right direction, because we are in the wrong direction. But I'm optimistic," Guillen said on 670 The Score at the Cork & Kerry, 10614 S. Western Ave. "If you look in a player's face and eyes and talking directly to them… obviously, people are not happy; people are very uncomfortable about the situation. But in the meanwhile, there are a lot of games to go."

In an hour-long talk in which he took questions from fans, Guillen also said "it surprises me how poorly our defense is right now."
The White Sox saw some success and an offense that clicked after the first seven games this season, but since then have lost seven in a row, five straight at home, and 15 of their last 18 games total.
But the team has to take responsibility, and can't blame its schedule or other teams.
"No matter who you play, the matter is how you play," he said. "If this ballclub is playing good, this ball club can compete against anybody in the American League – any team. But when you play bad, everybody looks better than you."
So when will the White Sox see another win?
"I wish I had a crystal ball next to me to tell me exactly when," Guillen told a listener. "I'll take my chance tomorrow."
