Guardian Angels Pass Out Flyers In Rogers Park To Help Find Rapist
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The Guardian Angels are back at one of the busiest intersections in Rogers Park, asking the public for help in finding a rapist, reports WBBM's Bob Roberts.
The Guardian Angels were back at one of the busiest intersections in Rogers Park for much of the afternoon Tuesday, asking the public for help in finding a rapist.
The crime-fighting group passed out flyers at the corner of Clark Street and Devon Avenue once before, on May 7, five days after the rape occurred, at 2 p.m.
But Guardian Angels National Director Michael Fuentes said the victim and her family asked the group to try again, now that they have decided to offer a $5,000 reward for information leading to a conviction.
"We've had some tips and we have forwarded them to the Chicago Police Department," Fuentes said. "We're hoping that the $5,000 will obviously jog somebody's memory."

The rapist put the victim in a chokehold at a bus stop, then dragged her to a nearby building where the rape occurred. At the family's request, the Guardian Angels will host a free self-defense clinic Sunday at 2 p.m. in nearby Schreiber Park, 1552 W. Schreiber Ave.
The attacker is said to be a 5'8" to 5'11", 300 pound man with dark complexion, and wore a white polo shirt and blue jeans at the time of the attack.
