Groupon Gets Into The Dating Game
CHICAGO (WBBM) -- Chicago-based Groupon is known for the daily deals it offers subscribers on restaurant meals, spa treatments and other services.
Now, WBBM's Regine Schlesinger reports it's trying its hand at matchmaking.
For the first time in Chicago, Groupon is selling tickets for a speed-dating event next month.

With 500 singles, they're trying to break the Guinness world record for speed dating.
The company's Kelsey O'Neill says within hours of the offer, more than 200 tickets were sold.
O'Neill says Groupon is branching out into new areas with deals on sporting events, plays and more social events.
The Groupon speed dating event will be held on Feb. 8th at the Paris Club, a new nightclub that's opened on the Near North Side.
