Groundhogs Predict Six More Weeks Of Winter
CHICAGO (CBS) -- If you put any stock into the predictions of the groundhog, we're in for plenty more snow and cold.
Despite the cold and snow, a couple hundred people showed up in the town square in far north suburban Woodstock on Monday, to find out what Woodstock Willie had in store for them.
Groundhog Day has been a major celebration in the small McHenry County town for more than 20 years, because of the filming of the classic Bill Murray movie that put the town on the map. Though set in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, the movie "Groundhog Day" was filmed in Woodstock.
So what did Woodstock Willie predict on Monday?
"He did see his shadow, calling for more winter," said organizer Rick Bellairs. "The people in the crowd, they were not happy to hear that. I think yesterday was enough winter, and people were hoping for an early spring."

Bellairs said Woodstock's annual Groundhog Day celebration was a success, despite the blizzard, noting the brave souls who battled the elements for a little fun this weekend.
"I couldn't even get out of my house and go to a Super Bowl party, but there were some people out celebrating Groundhog Day yesterday," Bellairs said.
As for Punxsutawney Phil, possibly the most famous Groundhog weatherman, he also saw his shadow Monday, predicting six more weeks of winter.
