Grossman Sits Atop Redskins' First Depth Chart
(CBS) The Washington Redskins released their first unofficial depth chart of the season Tuesday and former Bear Rex Grossman is listed as the team's No. 1 quarterback, according to the Washington Post.
But the Post's Redskins beat writer, Mike Jones, writes that the depth chart doesn't mean a whole lot:
"Rex Grossman is listed as the first-string quarterback, and John Beck is his backup," Jones writes. "It's probably not worth reading a whole lot into that. The two both have an equal shot at the starting job. One of them has to be listed as the first-stringer on these depth charts."
Beck has been battling a groin injury, which could explain why Grossman is listed No. 1.
