Grayslake Man Charged With Possessing Child Porn
GRAYSLAKE, Ill. (STMW) -- A north suburban Grayslake man was arrested Friday and charged with possessing child pornography.
Brian Stroud, 53, faces two Class 2 felony counts of possession of child pornography, according to a release from the Lake County Sheriff's office.
Stroud, of the 0 – 100 block of Pine Street in Grayslake, was arrested Friday after officers executed a search warrant at his home, police said. He had become the target of an investigation by the Cybercrimes Unit.
During the search, police said Stroud was cooperative and gave officers the location of a hidden computer containing images of child pornography.
Investigators also seized "numerous" other electronic devices capable of storing electronic media, police said.
No known local children were victimized by Stroud, Lake County Sheriff's office spokeswoman Sgt. Sara Balmes said.
Stroud was ordered held on $75,000 bond. He is next scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 29.
