Andy Conklin, a spokesman for the Cook County State's Attorney's office, says 48-year-old Eujenia Trejo and 46-year-old Jose Trejo are charged with one count apiece of endangering the life of a child. He says their bond was set Friday at $30,000 apiece.
Prosecutors tell the (Arlington Heights) Daily Herald that infant Raymond Trejo had been home alone for at least an hour Tuesday morning before he was found in a pile of clothing next to a bed. They say his 17-year-old mother and her 11- year-old brother had left for school, and the grandparents were not home either.
Conklin did not say if the grandparents had an attorney.
