Andrea Risotto of the U.S. Treasury Department says the Obama administration-sponsored event offers hope and help for people facing foreclosure.

"At this event, homeowners will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with 16 of the largest mortgage companies – HUD-approved housing counselors – to discuss their options to make their payments more affordable and avoid foreclosure," Risotto said.

Risotto says attendees should make things easy and bring all of their personal documentation.

"Pay stubs, tax returns, credit card statements, mortgage statements" are among the items attendees should bring, Risotto said.
