Gould: Loss Of Preseason Games 'Might Happen'
(WSCR) As the NFL Lockout now drags into its 119th day, fans are really only concerned about when a deal will get done. If fans ever cared about revenue sharing and rookie wage scales, those days days are long gone.
But the one one question fans want answered, isn't so easy to answer.
"To be honest with you, I can't answer that question, as to whether or not [a deal] is going to get done next week, two weeks, three weeks, four weeks," Bears kicker and player representative Robbie Gould told Zach Zaidman on The Score. "I know both sides are working very hard to get a settlement in place. It's always definitely, what I would consider, a great thing when both sides are meeting. I think they've worked very hard to work towards making concessions on both ends, and both sides finding a fair deal."

Fans are well aware of the seemingly constant "secret" meetings and federally mandated meetings. It's in these negotiating sessions that the fate of upcoming training camps, preseason and regular season games will be determined. But every report of progress seems to be followed by the opposite.
"I think it would be very unfortunate if we would lose preseason games," Gould said. "But unfortunately I think that might happen. But I think, also, it would be unfortunate if we lost regular season games. So I know both sides are working very hard to get a settlement in place. We, as players, understand that it's more than just a game. It effects a lot of people across the country, and probably even internationally. And we want to play football, and we're hoping that happens. I don't know if we're going to be able to open up July 22nd, but I hope we'll be able to do so."
