Good News For Blackhawks As Hossa, Seabrook And Crawford Practice
(CBS) Marian Hossa, Brent Seabrook and Corey Crawford all practiced Thursday and are optimistic about playing this weekend.
The Blackhawks have three home games in four days, starting Friday night against the Sharks.
Hossa appears to have avoided a major setback after taking a blow to the back of the head from Yannik Hansen in Tuesday's win over the Canucks. It took the winger a long time to recover from a severe concussion suffered during the playoffs last season, but he said Thursday he is feeling good.
"He hit me pretty hard right on the back of the head and right after I was shaky," Hossa told the Chicago Tribune after practice. "That was basically it, that's why I didn't return (to the game) because I was shaky. We had the day off (Wednesday) so it's kind of settled down. This morning I woke up and I feel much better."
The winger will undergo more tests Friday before a decision is made on whether or not he'll play against the Sharks.
Meanwhile, head coach Joel Quenneville said Ray Emery will start again in net Friday. Corey Crawford practiced Thursday, but has missed three straight games since taking a knee to the head against the Ducks Feb. 12. Crawford said he has been cleared to play and it seems likely he'll start one of the back-to-back games Sunday or Monday.
Seabrook missed Tuesday's game after taking a puck to the groin Sunday against the Kings.
