Goals Still Attainable For Bears
In the Bears' last six games they're 5-1. That one loss, as we all know, was an ugly game for the Bears that has some fans worrying about the future of the team. But the big picture goal is still attainable.
"We're undefeated in out division, that's hard to do," Lovie Smith said. "Not many teams can say that in the National Football League right now. We're in perfect position, with a little luck, to possibly accomplish another one of our goals this week."
That goal that Smith speaks of is the NFC North title. The Bears can lock up the division, and a playoff berth, with a win over the Minnesota Vikings and a Green Bay Packers loss to the New England Patriots.
That same Patriots team that handed the Bears their worst loss of the season can also help them win the division. And when evaluating that loss, the Bears can find plenty of room for improvement.
"I think every game you play can help you, it has to," Smith said. "It has to be a learning experience, whether it's good or bad. But believe me, that wasn't part of out master plan [on Sunday], we will [learn from it]. Just from watching the video, we know more things about our football team than we did [on Sunday]."
The schedule doesn't get much easier for the Bears, they still have road games against the Vikings and Packers, and a home game against the Jets. If the Bears are to learn from their mistakes on Sunday, it needs to happen soon.
