Glenview Man Charged With Sexually Assualting Young Relative
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 31-year-old Glenview man has been charged with sexually assaulting a young female relative.
Jose Guadalupe Huerta-Jimenez, was ordered held on $200,000 bond on Monday, charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to the Cook County Sheriff's office.
A young female relative recently told a friend about the assault, which occurred on November 2010, sheriff's police said.
At the time, Huerta-Jimenez, who lived at the same home, went into the girl's room, sat on the bed next to her, and began to sexually assault her, police said.
The girl was able to push Huerta-Jimenez away and left the bedroom. She told police that she didn't report the attack because Huerta-Jimenez said he would deny the incident.
Earlier this month, the victim told a friend about the assault and she was encouraged to tell her school counselor, police said. The girl told her counselor, who contacted her parents and police.
Cook County Sheriff's officers arrested Huerta-Jimenez at his home in Glenview on May 19th and he later admitted to the assault.
Huerta-Jimenez was due back in court on June 20.
