Police give all-clear at Glenbard West High School after bomb threat
CHICAGO (CBS)-- Students and staff at Glenbard West High School were evacuated Thursday morning after a bomb threat, and police gave the all-clear hours later.
Around 8:30 a.m., Glen Ellyn police responded to a bomb threat a the school, and staff evacuated everyone from the building while police investigated, according to Glen Ellyn police.
By 11:30 a.m., Glen Ellyn police said students and staff were being allowed to access their vehicles parked on campus, and by about 12:15 p.m., police gave the all-clear after a search of the building came up empty, and the building was reopened.
"We take these threats seriously. We'll use all our available resources to find the individual responsible for the threat. We are grateful for our community partners who assisted throughout the event," Glen Ellyn Police Chief Philip Norton said.
No one was in custody Thursday afternoon.
