Glenbard North High School Briefly On Lock Down
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Officials briefly placed Glenbard North and two other schools on lock down on Friday morning because they believed a person in the area could be a threat to students.
The lock down was lifted by 10:10 a.m.
There was no immediate danger inside the school, officials said.
It all started around 7:15 a.m. when Carol Stream police said someone called police to report a person with a gun was headed to the school.
Americana School and Glenside Junior High in Glendale Heights also put their schools on a lock down due to the reported threat.
Police have since determined the call was a hoax made a 50-year-old man from Glendale Heights.
That man has been taken into custody and is being questioned by police.
