Glen Ellyn Woman Found Dead, Police Search For Ex-Husband
GLEN ELLYN, Ill. (STMW) - A woman found dead in her west suburban apartment was murdered, police said Monday as they continue searching for her ex-husband, with whom she still shared the home.
Authorities identified the victim as 36-year-old Nancy Bustos, who last year divorced her husband, Juan M. Granados. The pair had two children, a 9-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son. Both children were safe Monday and being cared for by relatives, Glen Ellyn police said.
Bustos was found dead Sunday in the west suburban apartment after worried relatives asked police to check on her because they had not heard from her since Friday, officials said.
She was discovered in a bathtub and apparently had been strangled, law enforcement sources said.
She previously had expressed fears that her former husband might harm her, sources said.
Granados, 32, is being sought because he might been the last person to see Bustos alive, police said. He was last seen driving a black, four-door 1992 BMW with Illinois license plates L655003.
Granados may be on his way to Mexico, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at (630) 469-1187.
