Girl, 17, Sexually Assaulted In Logan Square Alley
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in a Logan Square alley when the sun was still up Tuesday, after she accepted a ride from a stranger.
As CBS 2's Susanna Song reports, the girl got into the stranger's car around 5:30 p.m. The man offered her a ride, and she accepted.
Police say the man then told her he and a gun, drove her to an alley behind the 2700 block of North Artesian Avenue, and sexually assaulted her.
Following the assault, police collected a few articles of clothing at the scene, and a trail of evidence could be seen near the dumpsters.
Police say the victim was treated and released from St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital.
Police do not have a useful description of the suspect, other than that he is an African-American man in his 20s driving a white car.
There is a surveillance camera pointed right at the alley where the assault happened, but police did not have any evidence of surveillance video from the scene.
The alley is also right next to the Regal City North Stadium 14 & RPX movie theater, and authorities say someone there could have seen something.
The assailant remained at large as of early Wednesday.
