Girl, 16, Shot While Riding In Car
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 16-year-old girl was shot in the South Side Fuller Park neighborhood while she rode in the backseat of a car Wednesday evening.
The driver of the car pulled into a gas station in the 4200 block of South Wentworth Avenue about 9:40 p.m. when he noticed a dark-colored SUV, said police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.
Moments later, shots erupted from the SUV, police said. One of the bullets struck the 16-year-old girl in her backside.
She was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County where she was listed in good condition, police said.
No one was in custody while Area Central detectives investigated.
