Gill: Rose At '95 Percent' In Return To Bulls
(WSCR) After missing five games with back spasms, Derrick Rose returned to the Bulls on Monday, scoring 23 points with six assists in roughly 35 minutes.
While Rose didn't look to be 100 percent, one NBA expert said he was close.
"I think he looked pretty much close to himself," Kendall Gill of Comcast Sportsnet told The McNeil and Spiegel Show. "I don't know if he' s 100 percent or not. There was one play in the second half where he went up for a lay up, made it and then crashed under Josh Smith. I think that he kind of tweaked his back a little bit on that play. Back spasms, they come and go. I think he's probably about 95 percent back, not 100."

Throughout this 66-game NBA season, many have questioned the amount of minutes head coach Tom Thibodeau is playing his starters, Rose in particular. Gill said that Thibodeau is just going to play each player however many minutes they are capable of.
"You don't understand this until you get out of the league, but with the amount of money that you're making, you can play me as many minutes as you want," Gill said. "That's my thought. Coach Thibodeau is going to play his players the amount of minutes that he wants to play them because he think that if you're healthy, you should be out there on the floor playing. That's why you see Luol Deng out there playing 42 minutes. That's why you saw Derrick Rose play 35-plus minutes yesterday after having five games off."
