Gibson's Big Fourth Quarter Makes Difference For Bulls
CHICAGO (CBS) Taj Gibson is in his second season in the NBA, he was the Chicago Bulls' second, first round draft pick in 2009. Over his career he's chipped in with big performances off of the bench, but none bigger than Tuesday night.
Gibson played just 20 minutes in Game 5 against the Atlanta Hawks, but his 11 points in the fourth quarter made all the difference for the Bulls.
"I was just being patient, letting the game come to me," Gibson said. "When the ball came, [I was] being aggressive. [I had] great looks, the shots I've been taking all year, the shots I work on in practice, and it paid off."
Heading into the fourth quarter of Tuesday night's game, the Bulls led by just one point, and the outcome of the game could have gone in either direction. But the Bulls outscored the Hawks by 11 points, the same amount that Gibson put up, and the Bulls seized control of the series.
The matchup now shifts back to Atlanta for an elimination game.
