Gibson Fined $25,000; Noah Avoids Discipline
(CBS) Taj Gibson was fined $25,000 for his actions in Wednesday's Game 2 loss to the Miami Heat, the NBA announced Friday.
Gibson was ejected from the game after receiving back-t0-back technical fouls and was slow to leave the court as he yelled profanity at referee Scott Foster.
Gibson apologized for the incident on Twitter Friday.
Meanwhile, Joakim Noah avoided a fine, according to reports from The Chicago Tribune and The Dan Patrick Show. Noah was handed his second technical foul while he was on the bench and he entered the court area, which is an automatic suspension during an altercation. The NBA obviously ruled that there was not an altercation going on.
Heat guard Mario Chalmers was also not fined for a hard foul on Noah where he wrapped his arm around the center's neck. It was, however, upgraded to a flagrant-one foul after being called a technical on the court.
