Gary U.S. Steel Plant Hopes To Convert More Cars To Natural Gas
GARY, Ind. (CBS) -- More vehicles may be converted to run on natural gas, as part of a pilot program at the U.S. Steel plant in Gary, Ind.
As WBBM Newsradio's Dave Marsett reports, the plant installed a natural gas refueling station and retrofitted seven vehicles.

The whole project reportedly cost $600,000, most of which went toward the fueling station at the Gary Works.
The Northwest Indiana Times says the project could save up to $12,500 per year, and reduce pollutants such as carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxide.
U.S. Steel is hoping to expand the project, given its success, the newspaper reported.
