GARY, Ind. (CBS) -- Gary police say a 28-year-old man led officers on a chase Monday through a large area of the city, and fought with them before finally getting arrested.
As WBBM Newsradio's Steve Miller reports, it was a traffic stop that seemed to go badly from the beginning.

Gary Police say the driver put his car in reverse, hit the officer standing by his car, then hit two police cars before speeding away and ramming his car into a woman's car near the Borman Expressway (I-80/94).
"He ran into three cars and injured two people," said Gary police Cmdr. Pete Sormaz.
The driver, identified as Dantrell Winford, then left his car, scaled a 10-foot fence and hid in the woods until officers found him.
Sormaz says Winford fought with the five officers and injured two of them before finally getting arrested.
"He's been arrested before. He does have several aliases," Sormaz said. "It took several hours to determine his exact ID."
Sormaz says none of the injuries suffered by the officers was life-threatening.
