Gary Man, 23, Dies In Shooting
GARY, Ind.(STMW) -- A 23-year-old Gary man was shot in the back and killed late Friday, becoming the city's 32nd victim of a homicide this year.
Andre Pullen, 23, of the 3400 block of West 21st Avenue, was shot in the 1500 block of Chase Street, the Lake Couny coroner's office said in a release. Pullen was pronounced dead at 11:10 p.m. at Methodist Hospital Northlake in Gary.
A representative from the Gary Police Department couldn't be immediately reached for comment.
Pullen's shooting death was the first since Monday, when a Gary teen was shot and killed during a struggle over a gun he apparently pointed at a robbery victim.
Marquise Stokes, 19, of the 500 block of Kentucky Street, was pronounced dead outside near the intersection of 7th Avenue and Connecticut Street about 10:30 p.m., a news release from the Lake County coroner said.
