The Northwest Indiana Times reports Tramel Raggs was arrested on Interstate 65 after allegedly following the other driver from the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Broadway in Gary.

The 37-year-old man told police Raggs' car had been taking up two lanes of traffic at a stoplight around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Northwest Indiana Times reported.

The man pulled up next to Raggs' Honda Accord, and gave Raggs the finger and screamed at him, the newspaper reports. In response, Raggs pointed a black handgun at the man and took off, the Times reports.

Raggs is the son of Gary City Clerk Suzette Raggs. He was appointed in February to the Gary-Chicago International Airport Authority board, and is paid more than $59,000 a year as an assistant in Lake County government, the newspaper reported.

Raggs and his sister, Talicia, were featured in 2002 as a team on CBS' "The Amazing Race."
