Gang Shooting Leaves Man Wounded At Damen And Addison
CHICAGO (CBS) - A man was wounded in a gang-related shooting before sundown Tuesday, on the northern edge of the trendy Roscoe Village district.
The incident happened just before 8 p.m. at Damen Avenue and Addison Street, police said.
The victim had just left a store at the intersection, and was approaching a vehicle, police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak said. One of the occupants of the vehicle made a comment about gang affiliation, then took out a gun and shot the victim, striking him in the arm, Kubiak said.
The vehicle fled on Damen Avenue and the victim, whom police say has gang affiliations, was taken by Fire Department paramedics to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. His condition was stable, according to Kubiak.
