Game 4 Loss Highlights Bulls' Needs

CHICAGO (WSCR) Just like they have all season, with the game on the line, the Chicago Bulls turned to Derrick Rose to get he job done. However, unlike he had up to this point, Rose wasn't able to carry the Bulls to to victory.

Rose had an off-night for his standards, scoring 23 points and adding six assists.

If wasn't already clear, after the regular season, and the first two rounds of the playoffs, Game 4 highlighted the fact that the Bulls desperately need a player who can take some of the scoring load off of Rose.

"You look with hindsight, and you say that at the trading deadline, you know, they had some opportunities," Steve Aschburner, of NBA.com, said on the Danny Mac Show. "They may not be names that are household, or that will even wow you, but, you know, Courtney Lee, Jason Richardson. Except the asking price was high, those teams wanted Omer Asik."

Asik, a 24-year old rookie from Turkey, was a valuable role player for the Bulls down the stretch and into the postseason before injuring his leg in Game 3.

When the offseason starts for the Bulls, whenever that might be, adding an offensive weapon is sure to be at the top of general manager Gar Forman's list.

"They need somebody who can create off the dribble," Aschburner said. "They at least need a reliable outside shooter to spread that floor more and open up more room for Rose."
