Friend Of Dr. King's Addresses Chicago Congregation
CHICAGO (WBBM) -- A man who worked closely with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. has come to Chicago, to encourage people to remember more than just the dream.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's Michele Fiore reports, Dr. Vincent Harding has a gift for words. The Rev. Michael Pfleger of St. Sabina's Parish introduced him as such.

"Dr. Harding, while he was a professor at Spellman College, was asked by Dr. King, and he indeed wrote the first draft when Dr. King came out against the Vietnam War," Pfleger said.
Pfleger welcomed Dr. Harding to St. Sabina, as Harding recalled King's desire of equality in all areas of society.
"I said, 'Let us march until Negroes and whites live side by side in decent, safe, and sanitary housing," Harding said.
Harding began the speech on a personal note, thanking everyone for making him feel comforted on a day he learned a childhood friend had died.
