Friday The 13th, Combined With A Full Moon And Solar Flares -- Reason To Worry?
(CBS) -- If you have an ounce of superstition in your body, you might find a good hiding place tomorrow.
Not only is it Friday the 13th, there's also a full moon. And solar flares are expected.
Is this something to be feared?
Our friends at the Adler Planetarium say not to worry, CBS 2's Brad Edwards reports.
Burst of radiation on the sun's surface have led to headlines warning of a disruption of communications on Earth on, of all days, Friday the 13th.
As for an unusual full moon on Friday the 13th
"There is no significance to it," said Dr. Mark Hammergren, with the Alder Planetarium in Chicago.
As for the solar flares, "the are a nice sight" but not a disaster.
It will just be nice Friday night northern lights.
This will be the last full moon on Friday the 13th until 2049.
