UPDATED 02/03/12 2:40 p.m.
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A freight train derailment on the city's West Side shut down the Milwaukee District-West Metra line during the morning rush.
Metra posted a notice on its Web site at 8:54 a.m. that all tracks are blocked from a freight train derailment on the tracks between the Grand/Cicero and Hanson Park Metra stations.
When trains were not moving, Metra has advised commuters to find alternate transportation through the area.
Trains were cleared to move again shortly after 10 a.m., but delays averaged 20 to 40 minutes.
The Milwaukee District-West Line runs between Elgin and Chicago's Union Station.
