Free Ride Cards Going Out For Seniors Who Qualify
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (CBS) -- The Illinois Department on Aging says postcards are in the mail to senior citizens on the state's Circuit Breaker Program, which will get them as many free rides as they want.
As WBBM Newsradio's David Roe reports, seniors with incomes low enough to qualify them for the program will continue to get free rides on Chicago Transit Authority trains and buses, Pace buses and Metra trains.

Seniors who are already in the Circuit Breaker program need not reapply, the state says. New applicants must report incomes in 2010 of less than $27,610 for a household of one, $36,635 for a household of two, or $45,657 for a household of three.
The free rides on public transit are ending for the rest of the seniors in the state, but they will be charged reduced fares.
Seniors in the Circuit Breaker program may need to contact their local public transit agency for a free ride card.
