Free Booze! At Least At Rahm Emanuel's Party; $8 For A Bud At Garcia's
By John Dodge
CHICAGO (CBS) -- As the votes were being counted in Chicago, it was time to shift the focus to the important stuff: the cost of drinking at the post-election parties.
Supporters of Rahm Emanuel at Plumber's Hall could choose from among these beers: Miller Lite, Miller Genuine Draft and Coors Light.
Miller products sold at a party for Chicago's mayor?
Actually, it's not being "sold."
It's FREE, according to a thirsty CBS 2 operative.
Well, Emanuel did raise millions of dollars for this campaign.
He can afford it.
And, it is the cheap stuff.
At Wal-Mart, a case of Coors Light is selling for $14.
There was a Cabernet from 14 Hands--which would set one back about $10-$12 if purchased online.
Cheap? Yes, but it is favorably reviewed. And it's FREE!
Over at the Jesus 'Chuy' Garcia party at the UIC Forum, supporters are going to have to dig deep into their pockets.
Aquafina, 20 oz $4
Red Bull $6
Budweiser $8.50 (16 oz can)
Corona $9.50
Liquor $11
Hennessy $13

A 24-can case of Budweiser also costs $14 at Wal-Mart, by the way.
Stay hydrated, my friends.
