Four Shot, Including 14-Year-Old Boy, In Woodlawn
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Four people, including a 14-year-old boy, were shot in the Woodlawn neighborhood early Friday.
The four were gathered on a sidewalk in the 6000 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue when a male gunman walked up and opened fire about 12:35 a.m., said police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.
The 14-year-old boy was taken to Comer Children's Hospital with gunshot wound to the thigh, police said.
A 35-year-old woman was taken to University of Chicago Hospitals with a gunshot wound to the calf, police said.
The third shooting victim, a 54-year-old woman, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to the calf, police said.
A 37-year-old man was also hit by gunfire, police said. He was taken to University of Chicago Hospitals with a gunshot wound to the forearm.
All four were listed in "stable" condition, police said.
No one was in custody as Area South detective were investigating, police said.
