Four Men Shot While Visiting Site Of West Side Death
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Someone opened fire, striking four men who were visiting the site where a friend of theirs died in the Garfield Park neighborhood early Sunday on the West Side.
The four were outside in the 4000 block of West West End Avenue at 2:28 a.m. when they heard shots and felt pain, according to a police News Affairs release.
Two of the men, ages 20 and 23, were each shot in the leg, the release said. A 25-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to the buttocks. A 32-year-old man was shot in the back.
The men were taken in "stable" condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the release.
Police said the men shot were visiting the site where a friend had died on an undentified date. Details on the death were not immediately available.
In an apparently unrelated shooting that happened nearby about 5 a.m. Sunday at 310 S. Springfield Ave., four other people were shot during an outdoor party -- a 30-year-old woman, a 16-year-old boy, a 30-year-old man and an 18-year-old man.
No one is in custody for either shooting and Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
