Four DePaul Players Receive Permission To Transfer
(CBS) After another disappointing season that included just two Big East wins, four DePaul players have received permission to seek a transfer to a different school.
Moses Morgan, Montray Clemons, Jodan Price and Derrell Robertson, Jr. will all look to leave DePaul, although they will stay at the school through the end of the spring quarter.
"We appreciate the efforts of these four players," head coach Oliver Purnell said in a statement. "We support their decisions to look for other opportunities."
Morgan is the most significant departure based on experience. The junior averaged 5.9 points per game as a junior this season, but that number was down from his sophomore year when he averaged 9.0 points per game. Morgan played 18.9 minutes per game this past season.
Price is a significant loss given that he was a three-star recruit from last year's recruiting class, but the small forward averaged just 2.4 minutes per game as a freshman.
Montray Clemons and Derrell Robertson Jr. were both members of Purnell's 2011 recruiting class. Clemons averaged five minutes per game as a redshirt freshman this past season, while Robertson Jr. played 13 minutes a game as a sophomore.
With the potential transfers of Clemons and Robertson Jr., four of the six members in Purnell's 2011 recruiting class have either transferred or will transfer, including guard Shane Larkin, who averaged 14.5 points per game as a sophomore for Miami (Fla.) this season.
