Former Teacher Accused Of Sexual Assault At Christian School
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Authorities have charged a suburban woman with sexually assaulting four students – three girls and a boy – when she was working at a Christian school on the city's West Side more than a decade ago.
Elisa Martinelli, 34, of the 1500 block of South Raymond Drive in Naperville, is charged with four counts of criminal sexual assault.
A man who also worked at the school, Nelson Quintana Jr., 27, of an unknown address, was also charged with one count of misdemeanor criminal sexual abuse, police said.
Martinelli, who no longer works for the school, was expected in bond court later Tuesday.
She is accused of assaulting three girls and a boy several years ago while they were students and she was a teacher at the Dayspring Christian Academy at 5133 W. Fullerton Ave.
The alleged crimes occurred in the late 1990s but were reported to police in April, according to police. Police did not disclose the ages of the alleged victims.
A third person was also questioned in connection with the case but was released without being charged.
Further details of the crime were not released in advance of the bond hearing.
Dayspring Academy is a private Baptist school with students from pre-kindergarten through grade 12.
