CHICAGO (CBS) -- Former Cook County Board President Todd Stroger's top aide has been convicted on charges of mail fraud and taking kick-backs. WBBM's Bob Roberts has spoken with attorneys.

Prosecutor's outside the court said that Eugene Mullins abused the public's trust.
He showed little emotion, but lead defense attorney Brunell Donald-Kyei says she is surprised and disappointed even though she chose not to put Stroger on the stand.
All along she has said the case was about Stroger and not her client.
"I definitely still feel that way. As lawyers, we went in there and fought. We fought hard for this client and for this fellow American.," said Donald-Kyei.
Donald-Kyei says she has no misgivings about the decision not to call Stroger. She has made no decision on an appeal, much less what sentence they will seek. Sentencing is set for Dec. 19.
