Former Mayor Daley Sells South Loop Home
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Former Mayor Daley has sold his South Loop home, but it is staying in the family.
Daley sold the home in mid-September to his daughter, Nora, and her husband, Sean Conroy, for $750,000, according to Daley spokeswoman Jackie Heard.
The home was never listed publicly.
The former mayor and his late wife, Maggie, bought the home in 1993 for $410,000 after selling their longtime Bridgeport home, which had been in the Daley family for decades.
The sale of the old neighborhood home made major headlines at the time.
As Maggie Daley's struggle with cancer worsened, the Daleys moved out of the South Loop home and rented an apartment in the Bloomingdales building on North Michigan Avenue.
Daley has since moved to a smaller apartment.
